Severe Tropical Cyclone "Marcus" (Category 4) is located offshore from the

areas are occurring with this system. The monsoon trough extends from "Marcus"
across the Arafura Sea to a low pressure near the Torres Strait and further to
the Solomon Sea. Showers and storms are active about the Top End, Gulf of
Carpentaria and Cape York Peninsula in Queensland.

Further south, a cold front is moving across Victoria and a large area of
speckled cloud, with isolated thunderstorms, is visible west of this front.
Onshore winds are directing areas of low cloud across the southern Australia
coastline.
